So, you say you are not a big sci-fi fan. Well, you may be lying to yourself. If you liked Star Wars then you can no longer claim a great distaste for anything science fiction. Another example you may have overlooked is the Matrix, and a third is The Terminator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton.

If you are having a hard time dealing with the fact that this movie and others on your list of favorites are considered sci-fi, now think about the fact that The Terminator was made in 1984. How time flies!

The Terminator is a movie about Sarah Connor (Hamilton), the woman who will be the mother of John Connor who will lead the human resistance in the future. Because of this, a cyborg is sent into the past to kill Sarah Connor, yet he is not the only futuristic character running around. Soldier Kyle Reese has also been sent back in time to protect Connor.

Reese: Pay attention. The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human: sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. I had to wait until he moved on you before I could zero him.

Sarah: Hey, I'm not stupid, you know. They can't build anything like that yet.
Reese: No, not yet. Not for about forty years.
Sarah: So, it's from the future? Is that right?
Reese: One possible future, from your point of view.

Reese: You still don't get it, do you? He'll find her. That's what he does. That's all he does. You can't stop him. He'll wade through you, reach down her throat, and pull her...heart out.

Dr. Silbermann: How are you supposed to get back?
Reese: I can't. Nobody gets home. Nobody else comes through. It's just him...and me.

Reese: Listen and understand! That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with; it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear. And it absolutely will not stop ever, until you are dead.

Sarah: The hardest thing is deciding what I should tell you and what not to. Well, anyway, I've got a while yet before you're old enough to understand the tapes. They're more for me at this point, to help get it all straight. Should I tell you about your father? That's a tough one. Will it change your decision to send him here, knowing? But if you don't send Kyle, you could never be...You can go crazy thinking about all this. I suppose I'll tell you. I owe him that. And maybe it'll be enough if you know that in the few hours we had together, we loved a lifetime's worth...
