Enjoy a "French Kiss"

Meg Ryan has certainly been in the spotlight lately, but under rare circumstances. Rather than making headlines for her latest hit romantic comedy, the attention is a result of her personal life. With a separation from Dennis Quaid and a pairing with Russell Crowe, Ryan has given gossip columnists a wealth of new material to work with.

This week, take a moment to forget her latest adventures and remember one from the past, "French Kiss". This movie is warm, funny and of course a little romantic. Ryan plays Kate, a woman who is hot on the tail of her fiancé, who has found a new love interest in Paris. In her attempt to find her man and take him home, she finds and falls for someone else.

Meg Ryan...Kate (the jilted bride-to-be)
Kevin Kline...Luc Teyssier (the fabulous Frenchman)
Timothy Hutton...Charlie (the wandering fiancé)

Charlie: My whole life is passing before my eyes, and we don't even have children yet.

Kate: Spasm, spasm! Oh...here it comes...lactose intolerance.

Charlie: I met this woman, this apparition, this goddesse.
Kate: Goddesse?
Charlie: It's French for goddess.

Kate: Happy, smile. Sad, frown. Use the corresponding face for the corresponding emotion.

Kate: Did you know there are 452 official kinds of cheese in this country? Isn't that amazing? To find 452 ways to classify what is essentially a bacterial process? Don't you think that is amazing?
Luc: You would prefer one kind of cheese? One cheeseburger to put it on? One restaurant to eat it in?
Kate: I'm saying I like the cheese!

Kate: Those French! They hate us, they smoke, they have a whole relationship with dairy products I don't understand.

Kate: Do you speak English?
Concierge: Of course, madam. This is the Geroge Cirq, not some backpacker's hovel.

Kate: So, who is this guy who stole my bags?
Luc: Bub.
Kate: Bub?
Luc: Bub. Like Bub Dylan.

Kate: A healthy person is someone who expresses what they feel. Express, not repress.
Luc: In that case, you must be one of the healthiest people alive.

Kate: I get around as nature intended, in a car.

Luc: I love the sea; so beautiful, so mysterious...so full of fish.

Kate: Do you believe in love? The kind that lasts forever?
Luc: I love my mother.

Luc: Now we'll practice. I'll be Charlie.
