In 1986, three of comedy's funniest men appeared together in
The Three Amigos. Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short starred in this western comedy about three unemployed actors who accept a job in what they think is a movie. In reality, they have accepted a job fighting a gang that is terrorizing a Mexican village. As Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), Lucky Day (Steve Martin), and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short), the three amigos face off against El Guapo and his evil bandits.
Rosita: I was thinking later you could kiss me on the veranda.
Dusty Bottoms: Lips would be fine.
Bartender: We don't have beer. Just tequila.
Ned Nederlander: What's tequila?
Bartender: Uh, it's like beer.
Lucky Day: Well, we're just gonna have to use our brains.
Ned Nederlander and Dusty Bottoms: Damn it!
Mr. Flugelman: Do you know what 'nada' means?
Dusty Bottoms: Isn't that a light chicken gravy?
Mexican Girl: Which one do you like?
Other Mexican Girl: I like the one that's not so smart.
Mexican Girl: Which one is that?
Lucky Day: I suppose you could say that everyone has an El Guapo. For some, shyness may be an El Guapo. For others, lack of education may be an El Guapo. But for us, El Guapo is a large ugly man who wants to kill us.
Martin Short can currently be seen on the big screen in
