It is here. The force of The Phantom Menace has finally hit theatres. The long awaited prequel has arrived. Now is the time to remember what came before and comes after this new film that made Star Wars what it is: the three movies that introduced the world to Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, C-3PO, R2-D2, Yoda, and Chewbacca. Without these movies, the world would never have known these unforgettable characters, the Force, or the power of the dark side.

STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ben): The force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.

Han Solo: Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

Luke Skywalker: I'm Luke Skywalker. I'm here to rescue you.

C-3PO: We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life.

Princess Leia: Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.

Obi-Wan: For more than a thousand generations the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy, before the dark times, before the Empire.

Luke: Well, if there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's farthest from.

Obi Wan: The Force can have a strong influence on a weak mind. You will find it a powerful ally.

Darth Vader: I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Obi-Wan: I felt a great disturbance in the Force...as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

Darth Vader: The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

Han Solo: Wonderful girl! Either I'm going to kill her, or I'm beginning to like her.

Obi-Wan: Who's the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?

Darth Vader: The Force is strong with this one.

Darth Vader: When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master.

Han Solo: Not a bad bit of rescuing, huh? You know, sometimes I amaze even myself.
Princess Leia: That doesn't sound too hard.

Obi-Wan: You can't win Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.

Obi-Wan: The Force will be with you, always.

Obi Wan: Use the Force, Luke!
