She is as beautiful at fifty-three as at twenty-three. Since the day Goldie Hawn was born, November 21, 1945, the actress, director, and producer has come a long way. She started out as a blond, flighty, go-go dancer on the 60's variety show, Laugh-In. When she decided to move on to film, Hawn won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her first, Cactus Flower. All the roles she has chosen since beginning her film career have been unforgettable and one of a kind. A few of these characters and the moments that made them so unique are:
Judy: Has anyone ever died from basic training? Judy: Have you seen the bathroom? Gwen in Housesitter Gwen has an interesting view of the truth throughout the film, but one she can pull off because she is so likable. The culmination of this twist of truth takes place in one of the final scenes when Davis (Steve Martin) tries to teach Gwen why her untruths are bad, but instead she teaches him the joy of lying. Elise Eliot Atchinson in The First Wives Club Elise: You think that because I'm beautiful I don't have feelings. Well you're wrong. I'm an actress. I've got all of them. Elise: It's the 90's; plastic surgery is like good grooming. Elise: I drink because I am a sensitive and highly strung person. Nancy Clark in Out-of-Towners Nancy Clark is sassy, smart, and sexy. She manages to get a free hotel suite and her husband a new job with her clever little mind. She also prompts her husband to tell her he is going to have her 'checked for testicles' as she climbs down the sign of a hotel to get to a lower floor. Hawn's personal life has turned out as successful as her career. She has three smart, successful children and has been with Kurt Russell since the early 80's. With a smile as stunning and lasting as she is, Goldie Hawn seems to be traveling down the right road. Luckily, it is also one the world gets to be a little part of. Be a part of Hawn's world in the upcoming Town and Country with Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton. It is scheduled for release early next year by New Line Cinema. Go To Page: 1 |
