United Way Fall Bike Classic

On October 14th the United Way foundation will be having their 12th Annual Fall Foliage Sprint Bike Classic in Sussex County, New Jersey. The tour offers you the choice of road riding or off-road riding. The Road ride tour is grouped in to three distances, 25 miles, 50 miles and 100 miles. If road riding is not your flavor, the off road ride takes you along the countryside trails and railroad beds of beautiful Sussex County. This ride also offers different distances for different riders. You'll have your choice of a shorter route of approximately 2 to 3 hours or the longer route which is approximately 3 to 5 hours with rest stops, route support and escorts strategically located along the way. Mountain bikes are strongly recommended the off-road routes.

I like the registration choice for this event. You can go the traditional route and register for $10, with $100 minimum in pledges required. Or you can register for a flat fee of $50 with no minimum pledges required. I know that many don't get involved with events like this because of the need to get pledges or sponsors. United Way has made easy for you to do the thing you love to do for a good cause. On top of helping others you'll be getting a nice tax credit. If that not enough of a reason, how about the knowledge that the United Way is involved in important programs like Youth Development, Educational programs, Teen violence prevention program and much more.
