Mountain Bike Club Review- Westchester Mountain Bike AssociationIn many ways it is the attitude of its members. The feeling that nature and wilderness is not just for the taking. That we, as a destructive force in the environment need to take heed and act responsibly. That act of responsibility is be involved in the maintains of the places we visit. That involvement can be as little as joining an origination and contributing a few funds or by volunteering your time. What you get out of mountain biking, is often what others have put in to it! I understand that Mountain Biking is still a very young sport compared to Hiking, but if we are going to see Mountain Biking grow and have the staying power of Hiking, we all need to become more involved. Some will argue the level of damage that mountain biking does, I will not! It's my opinion that we as group do a whole lot more damage. Why, because for every twenty mountain bikers on the trail, maybe one of them is active in a group such as the Westchester Mountain Bike Association. For some reason many riders seem to think that trees grow with trail markers on them. That brush and logs, clear themselves. Sorry for the sarcasm but my passion for the subject sometime over whelms me. Now go join a Mountain Bike Club or volunteer to help maintain a trail in your area.
