Best of the Web - Cyber Cyclery – The Internet Bicycling Hub

I have something that I need to get off my chest before I tell you about the site of the week. Here in the New York area, the weather has really sucked. It has either been raining or snowing or sunny every other day: Sunday and Monday, heavy rain with temperatures in the 50's, Tuesday, snow flurries with temperatures in the 30's, Wednesday, sunny with temperatures in the 70's. Thursday we get clear skies, with temperatures of 45; however, the trails are four inches deep in mud and a mess to ride. Friday morning it rains till noon. Saturday is shot, because the ground is saturated with water. Sunday marks the beginning the whole recycle of bad weather.

From December to March the weather was cold but dry. I can ride in the cold! I don't mind riding in a little mud, but I've got my limits. I try to avoid riding the trails after a heavy rain, to avoid damaging the Trail... But it's getting hard to say no!

Okay...! Now that I got that off my chest I feel... about the same, but Cyber Cyclery has helped to fill the void. Cyber Cyclery at http://cyclery.com calls itself the Internet Bicycling Hub, and it is, in many ways. The site uses a simple, clean cut format that provides links to points of interest on the Web. Cyber Cyclery covers a large array of subjects and provides search tools to help you navigate the site.

Email discussion lists and newsletters covering a wide range of cycling topics via E-Mail Lists link. Cyber Mart is a list of some suggested need-to-have items. The Web Sites link takes you to Links for bicycle manufacturers, tour operators, magazines and e-zines, mail order companies, bike shops and groups supporting bicycling, plus teams and club listings. Cyber Cyclery also offers, a listing of phone or fax numbers, mailing or email address's for bike manufactures to local bike clubs @ its Directories link. As if all of this wasn't enough, Cyber Cyclery has a Classifieds section, and a Job Board.

I do have my personnel favorites, such as the "Subscribe", which lets you Subscribe or renew your favorite bicycling magazines at really low prices. "Forums" is a message board where you can get advice, find a riding partner, sell that old bike, find out how it all works or just air your grievances about a product or service. The "Happenings" link is your doorway to press releases, product recalls, event coverage, reports and race results.
