Nutritional health bars

Nutritional health bars come in a variety of flavors and sizes. Manufacturers make them under a variety of titles. Some of the common titles are Health Bars , Nutritional bars or Food bars, Cereal bars or combinations of the above, like Nutritional Health Food Bars. Some of the manufacturers of these bars make great claims, of what their bars can do for you.

The cost of the bar seems to be directly related to the type of magical powers that the bar will grant you. For example premium bars like PowerBar will provide you with Athletic Energy for Optimum Performance with 230 calories for about a $1.50 each. While a Promax Bar boasts, a design to help you recover fast and fights lactic build up at almost $2.00 per bar.

At the other end of the spectrum we have the economy bars. The economy bars boast about their low-fat content. On average these bars are between 120 and 140 calories, with a price of eight for $3.50.

In comparing the premium and economy bars it is evident that the premium bars have a greater number and amount of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and protein. For the average weekend warrior and workout enthusiast, I question the value of investing in the premium bars. On the other hand, if you're a professional athlete and your performance counts to your pay check and overall standing, then by all means take every nutrition advantage available. After what I just stated some may find this strange, but I feel very different about sports drinks. Any vigorous workout that results in the loss of fluids can benefit from a well balanced mix of sports drinks and good old H2O.
