In Allamuchy State Park their at least four or more trails to ride but of them there are only two primary loops. One is referred to as the Jefferson Lake loop, because it's near Jefferson Lake and it's a loop.
The other primary loop is called Tranquility Farm loop. I'd bet you know how it got its name. That right, it's a loop and goes around Tranquility Farm. NORBA Sanctioned races are held here and temporary markers that were setup by the race committee may still be found, making negative the trail very confusing. The local State parks people have maps but at this time the maps are of little too no help because they're not current . Your best bet is to get a copy of Peter Kicks, 25 Mountain Bike trails in New Jersey and use the maps he provides to explore the two primary trails. We spoke to a Parks officer and we're told that the Parks department was currently working on new and improved maps for the park. If you plan on going, I'd give the Morris County Parks Department a call and check on the availability of the new maps. The number I have for them is 201-326-7600. I would rate this trail intermediate, only because of the rocky, rutted ascents. On the descent you'll find a fast and fun series of whoop-dee-doo's, if you time the jumps correctly you will be reward, you'll skip across the tops like a stone on a lake. Go To Page: 1
