Due to an overwhelming demand, PowerBar is introducing the new energy-enhancing flavors and miniature PowerBar energy bars (one-third the original size); the first since the highly successful Mocha and Banana energy bars hit the market in 1994.
"We've had thousands of requests for more PowerBar varieties," said Brian Maxwell, founder and president of PowerBar. "It was a challenge to develop a PowerBar with a delicious Peanut Butter flavor and a light, crispy texture with only two-and-a-half grams of fat. The Oatmeal Raisin bar has a great raisin flavor with undertones of cinnamon and allspice. Both have the optimum nutritional balance that makes PowerBar the trusted source of athletic energy. And the PowerBite bars are the perfect size for a quick energy lift in lunch boxes or on-the-go."
The new PowerBar flavors will be available through retailers carrying the other six flavors (Chocolate, Malt-Nut, Wild Berry, Apple-Cinnamon, Banana and Mocha) in November.
The 12-piece PowerBite multipack will be available in single flavors: Chocolate, Malt-Nut and Banana. Also available will be a 12-piece PowerBite variety pack containing Chocolate, Malt-Nut, Banana, Wild Berry, Apple-Cinnamon and Mocha flavors. The PowerBite multipacks will be available initially in health food and grocery stores in November. In addition, a 24-piece PowerBite variety pack containing Chocolate, Banana, Apple-Cinnamon, Mocha, Oatmeal Raisin and Peanut Butter flavors will be available initially in club stores in January 1997. Some highlights of a miniature PowerBar energy bar include: 20 grams; 75 calories; 14 grams total carbohydrates; and .75 grams total fat.
PowerBar energy bars contain: complex carbohydrates, simple carbohydrates, high quality protein plus branched chain amino acids, soluble fiber and important energy-related vitamins and minerals. PowerBar energy bars do not contain added fats or oils, sucrose, lactose, MSG, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
