Westchester Mountain Bike Association spring of 1999 events!
The New York based Westchester Mountain Bike Association has just announced its spring of 1999 events. The WMBA is quickly becoming a leader in the mountain bike community of Westchester County. The 1999-year for WMBA looks to be the best year yet.
Spring Party
WMBA will be having its Spring Party to kick off the season. It will be held at the Blue Mountain Lodge Sunday, May 2nd. They will have beginner and intermediate skill clinics, spring training seminars, and guided rides. Make sure to stay for the food and drinks afterwards. WMBA will have another party in the fall on October 2nd.
Spooky Cycles Factory Tour
Saturday, May 15th, 1999 10:00 a.m. - Spooky Cycles Factory Tour, WMBA has been invited to tour Spooky Bicycles new factory in Brewster, NY and ride their local trails. They'll demonstrate the techniques that make their bikes and their t-shirts special. The Fat Tire Festival '99 Presented by WMBA
Sunday, June 6th, 1999 is a celebration of the sport of mountain biking in Westchester County. It's a day of fun events and great riding. It's a fun way to help support the work of United Cerebral Palsy of Westchester. It's all these things and more! Last year WMBA celebrated with over 350 friends and raised $5,000 for United Cerebral Palsy of Westchester. This year the event is expected to have more riders and raise even more money. Don't miss it!
Cannondale / WMBA Demo Day - Summer '99
Cannondale will bring their latest mountain bikes for members to ride. These ain't no wimpy parking lot rides! Get a solid feel for their bikes by riding the trails at Blue Mountain with the WMBA gang. WMBA will set the date soon. Keep checking in at their web site, http://www.wmba.org/index.html

Pelham Bay Park - fallen trees were cleared from yellow trail near Back of Turtle Cove driving range area, thanks to the help of Forest Ranger, Bob Billa.
Van Cortlandt Park - New asphalt pavement over sections of the old railroad ties.
