The Bronx River Parkway will be closed to car traffic between the hours of 10 AM to 2 PM every Sunday from May 4th to June 29th except May 25th, and every Sunday from September 7th to October 5th. It's open exclusively to bicyclists between Scarsdale Ave., Yonkers and the County Center in White Plaines. It's about 7 miles from one end to the other. From the County Center North for about a mile the BRP is exclusively for skaters. From NYC, you can take Metro North's Harlem Line to Crestwood Station. Crestwood Station is about 100 yards from the BRP and about 1/4 mile North of Scarsdale Ave. Last year there were free music concerts on every Bicycle Sunday at a park near Scarsdale Ave. I haven't heard if there are any this year.

The 14 mile BRP loop is a mildly hilly, clean, smooth, tree lined roadway. It parallels the Bronx River. There's only 1 car crossing to slow down for. From the County Center parking area, you can take asphalt covered trails through the woods for another 4 miles North to the Kensico Dam.

Usually if there is any hint of rain Bicycle Sunday is canceled.

It's a nice ride, and I highly recommend it.

Thanks Joe Podhaiski at Joep@aceinc.com the ride information that you posted to Ebike Newsgroup
