The last danger to look for is strangulation. Guard rails that are between 3 ½ to 9 inches might cause strangulation. Another survey showed that one out of every three playground endangers a child because of guard rails. While you have your ruler there, measure to make sure spaces are smaller then 3 ½ inches and larger then 9 inches to protect your child. The dangers on the playground are not only real, but very serious. I hope to see in the future the government regulation of playground safety. Until then, keep the above tips in mind when you take your child to the playground. Include good parental supervision, which is the factor behind a good portion of the accidents on the playground. Be safe and have fun.
