My daughter is "borrowing " my clothes. Thank goodness, she does not fit my shoes. Actually, the only articles of clothing of mine that fit her are my tops. I find this a surprising situation because she rarely likes the same styles that I do. When we are shopping, I purchase something that she has turned her nose up at all the while thinking, "great this will be all mine".
Wrong! She simply changes the items she "borrows". She will turn a conservative blouse into a midriff top or beach cover-up. She will wear one of my dress shirts as a jacket or a fall vest as a summer top. "That's not suppose to be worn like that", I will comment.
To which she always replies, "So, it looks alright doesn't it". I usually have to agree with her. On her, the changes actually look good.
I will remind her that she did not like that particular item in the store. She usually replies with a shrug or occasional comments such as, "I know but it doesn't look so bad once you put it on".
I think the changes look good on her. However, I have tried wearing my blouses as a midriff or vest as a top. Well, lets just not go there. I shudder to think what she would do to my shoes if we did wear the same size. I wonder if that is where the term 'high heel' sneakers came from.
Another thing that cracks me up is how excited she gets over bell-bottom or the low rider pants. To bad, I did not save the bell-bottoms and hip huggers I wore when I was her age. We could have saved a good deal of money on her clothes. I guess that old saying is true. "If you keep your clothes long enough they will come back into style."
