Sunny Days and Zebras

A trip to California. YEE-HAW! This is a wondrous moment. I am able to take my beautiful daughter, successfully inagurated (oops, I shouldn't rub it in, heh George?) into her sixth year of life.

My job has me flying off to California for a busines meeting. I thought this a great time to take Hannah along, as well as her aunt, my fabulous sister. The three of us will sojourn to the West Coast where many adventures await.

Hannah, for starters, will be out of school for the week. Remember, we are talking Kindergarten, here! She will explore more, see more, observe and absorb more while there than she does in the East.

First on the list of things to do, is to visit what is perhaps the greatest zoo in the world, the San Diego Zoo. I plan to join in this endeavor; wouldn't miss it for the world. We have been to many zoos together, including the National Zoo in Washington, DC; the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence; and many other small zoos. Now, the grand prize- a waltz through the nation's finest man-made habitat for wild beasts.

I look forward to seeing Hannah's eager face peering into the life styles of the big and furry. And the wet and wild. Those slendid animals that offer so much to the human spirit- both visually and emotionally.

I, too, am eager to have this time with Hannah to unwind before the madness and hustle of the work-a-day world closes in.

Hannah, her aunt, and I can cherish this trip and its splendors-of which the zoo will be but one - for years to come. I look forward to this and future jaunts with relish.
