My worries are quashed. My knew job in a high-level professional field is fabulous, hectic, crazed, challenging, and fullfilling. Like parenthood.
She is my most amazing achievement. I wish to be hers. I see in her the promise of a wonderful future. She is funny, bright, given over to bits of mischief. She is me. I believe she is better than I in many ways. She will have the strength to perservere through life's toughest challenges. I did. Loss of a parent at an unspeakably young age. Death and more death. Grave illnesses in the family. Tremendous loss (of loved ones, of possessions). Drug and alcohol abuse among family members. She has inherited my stubborness. My "chin-up buckaroo!" attitude. My willingness to march on. She has imbued this amazing zest for life with a mature sense of humor. Laughter helps to heal and to enable one to take the hardest knocks. And still remain standing. Hannah is a champion. She has a calmness about her that I never possessed. It will serve her well in life. The career that I have worked so long to achieve is under way, in full bloom. As am I. I am happy that my independent daughter can witness my steadfast resolve to make the very most of my life. This Hannah will do as well. This I hope for those of you who have also struggled (and many have). May you experience the comfort of knowing that you are strong through and through and can keep your highest aspirations in mind, despite many obstacles. God bless you. Go To Page: 1
