Then, he allowed my little girl to join in with him as he led his energetic, if less than coordinated, crew of soccer tots in a "jog" along the outskirts of the field. He was in front, the shirt-clad clan tripped and skipped behind him, my daugher included (sans the soccer shirt).
"I want to join this team," chirped my girl. So, of course, I signed her up, telling her that we were not gauranteed a spot. As luck would have it, we were later informed that there was no spot on THIS particular team, but that there were seven - yes, SEVEN - other kindergarten-aged girls soccer teams in our little town. Really! No kidding. Now I am on a mission. I must not fail. I may even buy a Golden Retriever. In fact, I may use my lime green cell phone to call up the local breeder and request the pick of the litter. He'll give it to me gladly, because I am a soccer mom!
