Personal RevelationAs we face decisions in our lives we believe that we can receive inspiration and help from our Heavenly Father through personal revelation. Of course, we must be keeping the commandments and using the intelligence with which we’ve been blessed to make the best possible choice. After we have studied all of the alternatives in our own mind and make the decision, we can then come to our Father in prayer and He will let us know whether the choice we have made is correct or not. “But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your own mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right. But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought . . .” (Doctrine and Covenants 9:8-9) Personal revelation is as important today as it has ever been. As we struggle to make the right decisions about our lives it is comforting to know that our Father is only a prayer away.
