"And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones, And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures. And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint." (D&C 89 18-20)

Of course, adhering to the Word of Wisdom does not guarantee we will never suffer ill health, but we will certainly be less likely to suffer common ailments that come from disobedience to this revelation. More importantly, obedience to this commandment will afford us wisdom from God and great treasures of knowledge. We will also see the blessings that come from obedience to God. "And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated." (D&C 130:21) Abiding by the Word of Wisdom will help us become closer to our Father in Heaven and be able to more readily do His will.
