For the most part these topics are lightly touched upon but in a sufficient manner to give us another glimpse as to what it was like to be a Jew living in Montreal at the turn of the last century.

It is once again a social history and commentary of the organization of Montreal's Jewish Community's institutions that still exist today.

Both are fast reading and devoid of facts, figures and statistics that often bore the reader. Nonetheless both books provide us with an excellent insight into the origins of Montréal's Jewish community.
