d.) Also, according to the biochemistry we already discussed, it must be balanced so as not to put your body under some kind of stress and,

e.) It should not be that rigorous that you are under stress just trying to keep it.

Then, thinking about what my Stone Age ancestors must have eaten, I decided that for a few months I was going to eat as little carbohydrate as possible, and that the rest of the diet should be as varied as possible. That is: no sodas, ice cream, pastries, pasta, white bread, etc. Instead, I would eat wholesome bread, potatoes, and lots of fish, poultry, vegetables, grains, fruits and water. I ate, and I still do, four eggs per week, lean meat once or twice a week. The glucose needed to keep my blood sugar level constant comes from the wholesome bread, grains and potatoes.

After 5 months on the diet I had lost about 12 pounds. Now, as you know, I am not living in the Stone Age; and I am, every single, day tempted to eat some sinful and, of course, delicious treats, such as the ones I mentioned above. I also realized that I did not want to spend the rest of my life without them. Thus, I decided to make a trade-off with myself. It is as follows: whenever I indulge - with chocolate and/or cake, and/or soda - to force my body to burn fat, I eliminate all of the potatoes and whole bread from my meals for two or more days depending of the magnitude of the transgression. In order to let the fat-burning hormones do their jobs, I increase the time between meals; that is, I do not eat any fruits or any type of food between them. In this way, I do not have the stress of having to control my craving for sugar while still trying to lose weight.

Well, it has been three months since I added this new twist to my diet, and I have lost four more pounds. I checked my blood values of sugar, cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol; and they are fine, thank you, within normal levels.

I still have four more pounds to go to reach my normal weight, and then I will have to change my diet a little bit so as to maintain it. At this moment, I think that I will increase the carbohydrates a little bit, eating more potatoes, fruits, etc. In any case, I will make sure that I will not go above an average of 2000 calories a day. I will also check my blood values of cholesterol, sugar and the rest of those molecules to make sure that they are normal.
