Banana pudding

2 large bananas, sliced crosswise 1 large package vanilla or banana pudding mix, the kind you cook 1 box Nilla wafers 6 egg whites 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Make pudding as directed on box.

Place a layer of wafers on bottom and sides of oblong baking dish. Put pudding on top of wafers. Beat egg whites gradually adding sugar, then cream of tartar, until stiff. Be sure bowl and beaters are cold and free of grease. When stiff, spread on top of pudding. Bake for 5 or 10 minutes, until top is slightly browned.

for a fruit tart base. Interesting idea to use pie dough.
