Black Moon Chronicles Suspended
Vircom has stopped the development of Black Moon Chronicles and closed its Interactive Division. As a consequence, BMC will not be updated on a regular basis as it used to be in the closed beta period. From now on, the game will be open to anybody who wishes to play, but is provided as-is, free of charge, without service or support.
NC Soft Announces Publishing Deal with NetDevil
NCsoft has announced plans to publish an upcoming MMOG currently under development by NetDevil® studios. "Wreckage" (the working title) will introduce an entirely new style of play for the MMOG genre -- post apocalyptic car combat in a future-Earth setting. Players will have the ability to arm and upgrade their own vehicles, group with friends and take on other players in a full-fledged auto war. Wreckage is scheduled for a 2004-2005 launch date.
Iritor Online Contest!
Wootsoft Entertainment, developer of the MMOG Iritor Online (scheduled for Beta testing this Fall), has announced an online games industry "first" - a free contest which incorporates the contest winner by name and by some physical characteristics into its upcoming online game. The contest runs through November 23, 2002, and players may enter the contest at http://www.iritor.com by becoming part of the Iritor Online Community.
EA's Earth & Beyond Ships To Stores
Electronic Arts has shipped Earth & Beyond to stores in North America. The game is being developed by Westwood Studios(tm) and will be published under the EA GAMES(tm) brand.
