Miss Eudora Welty died at the age of 92 Monday, July 23, 2001, in Jackson, Mississippi. This Pulitzer Prize winner will be remembered as one of our nation's best writers, but I will remember her as the lady who awakened my appreciation of who I am one afternoon twenty-five years ago.
