A Quick Look at Hollywood Military Technical Advisors

On February 15, 1999, I wrote an article entitled "So, you want to be a Military Advisor for the Movies?" ( http://suite101.com/article.cfm/military... ). In this article, I discussed the whys and wherefores of working as a military technical advisor (MTA) for the motion picture and television industries. In the article I stated, "... ask yourself exactly what you want from the motion picture industry." Periodically (about two a week), I receive resumes from prior service or current service individuals who are seeking work as MTAs. I gently respond to these individuals with a nice letter telling them they have an excellent background (most do), and thanks for asking. However, I have all the help I need at present.

Give me a break fellas. I work with a small circle of individuals who I have known for many years. Currently, I have no need for new personnel. If that need changes, I will put out an advert I promise. If you send me a nice letter telling how much you like or dislike the Chat Board or this e-magazine, I promise to respond.

Now, if after reading the aforementioned article you are still interested in a career as a MTA there are several choices to look into. Please do some research before sending your resume to anyone.
