We're coming upon the holiday season. This is the time of year that I vow to not even think the 'd' word. I love holiday cooking, food, parties, beverages . . . etc. The older I get, however, the more I need to be mindful of what I eat. I can no longer throw caution to the wind and go crazy.
But, the holiday season need not be bland and boring, foodwise. I am going to prepare to enjoy festive meals as I always do, but I'm going to do it with lots of low fat recipes. The one thing I said I would never bend on is dessert . . . but there are dessert recipes that are low fat and still very good. I got this recipe from the Halloween site and it sounds pretty good. I also found healthy recipes from BlueCross/BlueShield I would trust that these good people know what they're dishing out :) I was pleased to come upon Fleischmanns Yeast's breadworld. This is Chef Ashbell's Cranberry Sauce. He says, "I serve this sauce every Thanksgiving and any leftovers are used to top off slices of pound cake w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The sauce is also great for grilled chicken or pork. Those who can't use sugar can substitute honey. Cranberries are so tart that a sweetener must be used. Ingredients
