We have all heard it said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Here's an article telling us why: Is It Really That Important To Eat Breakfast? Well, I must be really missing out, because I hardly ever get to have any. My kids eat at school and I figure I can use that half hour to sleep in the morning. I realize that this is not a healthy attitude.
In searching for recipes, I found that there are lots of things that can be made beforehand. You can make scones, quickbreads and muffins and freeze them. Pancake batter can be made beforehand and stored in the refrigerator. You can buy frozen pancake batter in cartons. Breakfast needn't be elaborate . . . a bran muffin, a banana and a glass of juice or skim milk. I love oatmeal (the quick kind, of course) it's good, it's healthy and, if you don't believe me, click here and check out the Quaker Oats Cereal Homepage. I was pleasantly surprised by My menus breakfast page on this site where you can ask for the recipes sorted by cooking time, preparation time, total time, or most popular. You can specify the preparation time for eight servings of eggs benedict or the cooking time for 80 servings. This site is so interactive, it's scary. I even had time to drop by Nabisco's kitchen and scout out some recipes for breakfast. I vow to try to have something healthy every morning, but I know my system will rebel and taunt me by asking that age old question "hey, where's that greasy little honeybun you send down here every morning?" I owe it to myself to try. Right? You know I have to share a recipe in every article. I found this recipe in my drawer of goodies. It's quick and inexpensive.
