You can't think of a single thing to put on the dinner table and you start running for your pile of take out menu's...right? Coming up with something different everyday really does take imagination. If it weren't for my children, I'm sure I'd eat a sandwich every day of the week. That wouldn't be healthy. Takeout would be expensive and probably not all that healthy either. What about not wanting to think of a meal so bad that you decide to skip dinner and go to bed. Hey, i've done that..one of those awful days at work when I come home totally drained.
I'm thankful that my oldest son is 21 and will be going to culinary school very shortly. He has such a flair and enthusiasm for cooking that he takes alot of the pressure and guess work out of the evening meal. Not to mention that it's nice to come home to a homecooked meal every now and then. Suppose you don't have a son who likes to cook? No problem, log onto http://www.tavolo.com (formerly Digitalchef.com) and scour the site for a new recipe. They also have a variety of kitchenware and specialty foods. Once you've exhausted their means, you can click on over to http://www.betterhomes.com and find seasonal favorites. Two things that make it easier this time of year is the bbq grill and ever fresh produce. Prices are probably at a premium due to the drought, but I think you'll find good deals at you local Farmers Market. For a list of fresh produce and open air markets in your area check out the USDA website at http://www.usda/gov or Epicurios Foods has a listing of state farmer's markets at http://food.epicurious.com/e_eating/e02_... Remember there's nothing like fresh homecooked food, even if you have to cook it yourself :) but if you're just too busy to cook, visit my friends at http://www.food.com and order a meal. I reccommended this site to a friend, she raved about it. She said she got exactly what she ordered, at the exact time that she specified she said that it was very good and a little cheaper than the website quoted. Go To Page: 1 2
