Scenes From Turkey: Oriental Dance, Part 3 - Page 3© Shira
Click here to see 4 pictures of the third and final dancer at the show we saw July 18, 2000 in Kusadasi. The final dancer that I saw during my two weeks in Turkey appeared at a restaurant that we went to after returning to Istanbul. I was disappointed with her dancing, but her costume was pretty. Not innovative, but pretty. Click here to see 3 pictures of this dancer in Istanbul. You can also read my comments about why I didn't like her very much. If you've read all three parts of my "Scenes From Turkey: Oriental Dance" and followed all the links in each article to look at additional pictures, then you've seen nearly 70 photos covering 15 different dance acts (18 dancers). I hope you've enjoyed learning a little about the Oriental dance scene in Turkey as of July, 2000! For More Scenes From Turkey Would you like to see more scenes from Turkey? Do you have an interest in Turkish belly dance costumes? If so, you may enjoy Making Costumes: Turkish Edging, an article that describes how to make a bead-and-sequin edging that was used on two costumes I purchased in Turkey at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It includes photo galleries of both costumes with a description of their components. This article is part of the Suite101 "Middle Eastern Dance" topic area.
