Israel has also been dealing with the Iraq crisis where thousands have put together sealed compartments to protect against chemical and biological weapons and have updated their gas masks. These precautions have been taken by those extremely worried about potential threats made by Iraq. While Iraq has publicly denied that they would strike against Israel, most Israelis don't believe that Iraq can be believed. Complicating matters further, many Palestinians have demonstrated in favor of Iraq firing Scud missiles at Israel just as was done in 1991. This has further angered Israelis and hardened positions further.
