His major weakness lies in his confidence that his views are not likely to bring about peace any quicker or easier than his Labor opponents even though Labor has proposed sweeping concessions that many Israelis thought went too far. Sharon is likely to propose a very narrow peace process and very few concessions, hoping to wait the Palestinians out.
