This news comes only days after the Israelis and PLO suggested that they would renew negotiations about a formal solution to the peace problem between the Palestinians and Israelis. Those negotiations have once again been stalled as the Netenyahu government must answer for their conduct in the assassination attempt. A potential outcome is that the Knesset could call for a vote of no confidence, which would all but stall the peace process until new elections could be held. A more likely outcome is that there could be yet another major shuffle within Netenyahu's cabinet to include more members of the opposition Labor coalition.
