The purpose of the permanent solution for Jerusalem is to give both Palestinians and Israelis something that resembles a victory over the other side. Although it would take concessions on the part of Israel to change Israeli law on Jerusalem reverting its status to that of an independent city, neither Israel or the Palestinians would have complete and direct control over the city. Both would have to work together to solve differences.
As a first step towards this goal, the implementation of a ruling body of religious clerics should be created. It would show both Israelis and Palestinians that both are committed to the peace process as well as to the spiritual nature of Jerusalem itself. Go To Page: 1 2
