Saddam Hussein's Rule of Terror: Part 3In the past two articles I have talked exclusively about Saddam Hussein as ruler or Iraq. However, there were two other people involved with Saddam, who shared the same love of terror as he did and they were his two sons Uday and Qusay. In this final part of the three part series on Saddam Hussein's rule of terror in Iraq we will look at Saddam Hussein's two sons and how they played havoc, on their own, in Iraq. It just goes to show that the phrase "like father like son" holds true in regards to Saddam and his two sons. If you had to choose which one of Saddam Hussein's sons was the worst I would say that you would have to choose Uday. This son of Saddam had a real penchant for terror, murder and greed and this might have made it so he even surpassed his own father in this area. Not until the fall of Baghdad have we been able to get a good look into the activities of this murderous and somewhat insane person who would do anything to get what he wanted and make sure those who stood in his way were put out of his way. Uday had a few "infamous" events in his life that drew him into dislike by the Iraqi people. Uday was known to have an eye for women and he thought that he could have any woman he wanted. He would often steal women, even from their own weddings, just so he could have his way with them. He would then rape them and often times kill them at his leisure. He would also take a hand in beating these women, sometimes on his own, sometimes using his bodyguards just for fun. Uday did draw the wrath of his father at one time as well. It all happened when Uday killed Saddam's bodyguard/food taster after he had introduced Saddam to a woman who would later become his mistress. Uday had an unusual bond to his mother and considered himself her protector. She was made particularly upset by Saddam's new mistress so Uday decided to take matters into his own hands and kill the man. This drew the wrath of Saddam who almost had his own son killed in retaliation for his bodyguard's murder. This deeply affected the feelings that Saddam had for Uday and it took him out of having the chance to be the next President of Iraq. The presidency would more than likely pass to Saddam's other son Qusay.
