The Case Against Iran

Will the United States resort to military force to help bring Iran in line? Maybe but it may not take force to change things in Iran. The country's reformist attitude is gaining momentum, especially since the United States is concentrating some of its political might on Iran. The fact that the U.S. has around 200,000 troops in the area is also a reason Iran can feel some pressure. In addition to all this, members of Bush's cabinet are calling for a regime change in Iran. Imagine the pressure that the Iranian government is starting to feel now. If that doesn't start to crack the regime in Iran, then military force might be the only option left.

I would look for the current government in Iran to undergo some major changes in the next year providing the United States keeps up its current level of pressure. I don't think that the reformist movement will let the clerical leadership continue to defy the will and wishes of the United States especially if it begins to look like the U.S. is going to invade the country. America is doing well by putting the pressure on Iran. Let us just hope that it does its end up requiring the use of force and the loss of lives.
