Hizbollah: Better and More Dangerous than Al-Qaeda?It is really isn't the fact that this was such a well conceived plan that makes it so scary, it's the fact that there are members of such a violent terrorist group operating so freely and unnoticed in America. These members are possibly positioned so that they could easily launch a terrorist attack within the United States if called upon to do so. Since many of their members are not under watch by the U.S. government, an attack on America in America may be hard to predict and possibly very devastating. It is Hizbollah's ability to stay so well hidden within the confines of America that make it at even more dangerous group than Osama Bin Laden's Al-Qaeda. This statement wouldn't have been true prior to 9/11 but now the government has been on the look out, with tips from Al-Qaeda members captured overseas, for anyone who might be a member of Bin Laden's group. They have some pretty reliable information and this might be keeping members of Al-Qaeda on the run, within the U.S., and it might be keeping any new members from attempting to enter the country. Along with the operations in Afghanistan and assistance from other countries, Al-Qaeda appears to be slowing down, at least a little (but we can't discount their near definite involvement in the recent bombings in Saudi Arabia). The sad fact is that Hizbollah isn't at all keyed in upon as much as Al-Qaeda is. Therein lies a great fault in U.S. intelligence and now it may just cost lives. This could be to deter any American involvement in the ongoing peace process. They could then begin staging terrorist attacks within the borders of America and this would be a severe detriment to American national security as well as to all American's feelings of being safe in their own country, which has improved since the attacks of September 11th. So it appears that we now have a new and more mysterious enemy within our borders. This enemy is better organized, better equipped and better managed than the Al-Qaeda network is thus making it more dangerous to American interests. It is entirely possible that with all that is happening in the
