The human infection is temporary and mild. FMD is not considered a public
health problem for humans.
Hopefully, by destroying infected animals and herds this FMD epidemic rarely seen in the UK can be stopped. If a country can't feed itself it can get in trouble very quickly. Let's hope this is not the final straw for British farmers. For more information on FMD go to the following websites:
