Tobacco Products Kill


We all know that the use of tobacco products is harmful to our health and I realize tobacco use has nothing to do with microbiology. However, I started telling you about these "Achievements in Public Health 1900-1999" articles from the Centers for Disease Control and I just can't stop (Vaccines and Food Safety). Tobacco use kills and maims tens of thousands of people all around the world every year. The problem with these products is that they are addictive and it takes a long long time before you see cancer or other life-threatening diseases. Go read the article and look at the figure they mention in the article. You can very quickly see how educating people about the dangers of a product can save people's lives.
