What Do Microbiologists Study?: A Virtual Visual Microbial Tour

The last group of organisms studied are the parasites. They include a very diverse group of organisms. They all live off other larger organisms (like humans) for survival. One example of a single-celled parasite is Entamoeba histolytica. This particular parasite is about 20 times bigger than a bacterium. Parasites can also be multicellular and some can get up to several yards (meters) long. One example is the tapewormTaenia solium. Why are you so hungry? Did you swallow a tapeworm?

Well that pretty much concludes my virtual visual tour of the microbial world. Next time I hope to take you one step deeper into the microbial world. Please feel free to ask questions.
