Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be DoneThy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done. Let's get back to our discussion of The Lord's Prayer. The next line is "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done"Many religions see God as loving and punishing at the same time. They teach that God loves you but if you don't follow the Commandments and do God's will exactly, God will punish you by eternal damnation. Metaphysical Christians see it differently. We see God as only loving, never punishing. Humans bring punishment and Hell upon themselves by not following the Spiritual Laws that God has outlined for us. Heaven and Hell are not places somewhere "out there." According to Charles Filmore, in his book, Prosperity ,"Jesus did not use the word heaven but the word heavens in His teaching. He was not telling us of the glories of some faraway place called "heaven" but was revealing the properties of the "heavens" all around us...." When a person follows the Laws of Spirit they feel content and happy. They are filled with Spirit and can easily recognize and manifest the will of God. This is heaven. When a person breaks spiritual law, they feel discontent and anguish, they can not manifest the will of God. This is hell. Thy kingdom come is a reminder to us to open ourselves up to the will of God so that we may manifest His perfection in our lives and in our hearts. The kingdom of heaven is absolute love, life and prosperity. If you are in God's kingdom poverty, sickness and hatred can not exist in your life. . We must consciously strive to bring the kingdom of God into our lives. We must affirm the kingdom of God within us and deny all thoughts which do not bring us closer to God. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2 A wonderful affirmation comes from Emily Cady's book Lesson's In Truth "I am a child or manifestation of God, and every moment His life, love wisdom, power flow into and through me. I am one with God and am governed by His law." There are many denials to remind us there is nothing other than God. When changing your thought patterns and habits it is vital to use both affirmations and denials. My personal favorite also comes Cady's book Lesson's in Truth.
