The First Week in Hell

THURSDAY

On this day, you decide to look around for a mailbox or a phone - something - in order to send a message home. You really want to warn loved ones about this place, but there is no communication from where you are (Luke 16:25-31). Ah, there is a rock. It will feel good to sit. But you are not allowed to sit, for here there is only perpetual movement like a restless leg. Then you remember the day you made the decision to come to this place. That was the day you rejected Jesus and the Gospel (I Corinthians 15:2-4). You were told and shown in God's Word what rejecting Jesus would mean, and you understood that you would spend eternity in hell. It did not seem too important to you at the time. Now you realize that you will never see your loved ones again, touch them, or speak to them. "Oh, what have I done?"

FRIDAY

You now become more aware of things you are missing like love. You remember someone telling you that God is love. But He is not here. There is no joy. No peace. No Bible. No HOPE. Only now can you realize the great distance between heaven and hell. Between good and evil. Between God and Satan. You begin to weep as you understand the magnitude of distance that separates you from God. You cry out in futile desperation. "Ichabod!"

SATURDAY

Today you met a new arrival who tried to talk to you, but you were unable to utter any words, so he left you alone. Alone. Alone. Tomorrow is Sunday and you will spend it alone. An eternity of punishment, (Matthew 25:46) all alone, all because you rejected Jesus.

"Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21).
