The Creation Story

This retelling of the true story of Creation
is based on Genesis chapters 1-3 in the Bible.
It is appropriate for Messianic Judaic homeschooling.

IN THE BEGINNING
There was no earth, sky, sea or animals.
There were no people.

And God spoke out of darkness and said,
"LET THERE BE LIGHT!"

And right away light appeared from blackness.

And God said, "It is good!"
From now on, when it is dark
It will be known as night".

"And when it is light
It will be known as day"

The evening came. The night passed.
And light returned.
This was the first day!

On the second day, God made the earth.
Over the earth he hung a blue sky.
And God said, " That is good, too".
The second day was now over.

The next morning God thought the earth
should be divided into water
and dry land.
So He put water in one place and land in another.

Then God made plants to cover the land
in all colors of red, blue, and orange.
Trees and grasses began to grow.
God was very pleased at the end of this third day.

On the fourth day, God looked around and thought,
"The daylight needs something more,
and the night is too dark".

So God made the sun to light the sky during the day

And the moon and stars to sparkle in the night.

The next day God created fish and birds.
Then dusk fell over the water and the sky grew dark,
and that was the end of the fifth day.

On the sixth day, God added creatures to the land. He made lions, tigers, and bears.
He made cows and sheep and rabbits.
He added everything from ants to elephants.

But,God felt something was missing.
So He made two people, and named them Adam and Eve.

They lived in a garden and took care of all that God had given them.

On the seventh day God took a rest, and enjoyed looking at all He had made.
