Bible codes are "cryptograms . . . that have a time lock . . . that could not be opened until the computer was invented". They seem to have had some sort of mystical genesis, though the Bible code is purported to have been discovered in the original Hebrew version of the Old Testament. Moses received the Bible from God, and "according to legend, he received it contiguous, without break of words." In other words, in its original form, Scripture had no punctuation, only "one continuous letter strand, 304,805 letters long." It also said much more, like predictions of a fast approaching Armageddon, and that a nuclear war will start as the result of an act of terrorism in the Middle East. It seemed like exciting reading for a Southern ice storm. Michael Drosnin is a reporter, formally with The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. According to him, the Bible contains an ancient hidden code which, until the advent of the computer, was hidden from view. For 3000 years encrypted messages were buried throughout the Scriptures until a special code was opened by a famous Israeli mathematician, Dr. Eliyahu Rips, who is a leading expert in group theory, that field of math that underlies quantum physics. Don't let that frighten you. It is not a book on physics. I like physics. Physics is always dependable. Go To Page: 1 2
