Dr John Grohol has prepared several different resources for those looking for mental health support resources.

The first, Behavior Online - Dr. John Grohol's Links to Online Mental Illness Support is located at http://www.behavior.net/grohol/web.htm#A is a comprehensive list of where to go for online support.

The second located at http://www.grohol.com/mail.htm is a directory of email mailing lists online.

The third is Dr. Grohol's new book, The Insider's Guide to Mental Health Resources Online, published by Guilford press in 1999. Applauded as a book for novices to experienced surfers this book makes your journey into mental health on the internet fast and easy. Dr Grohol's book is available at amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com

Mental Illnesses are not easy to deal with on your own. There are people out there ready and willing to help. Visit some of these places and feel the warmth and comradeship so prevalent in these areas.

And feel the warmth as you "reach out to help another", perhaps in more dire straits than you.

Note that self-help does not replace the advice of your doctor, nor does it exclude you from medications and treatment. It is however a perfect adjunct to both.
