More and more web sites are fraught with inaccurate, promotional, and misleading material deemed to get your attention and your pocketbook. Not a day goes by that my e-mail isn't flooded with get-rich schemes and 1-900 lines. For patient education, physicians need to be better educated on which web sites contain reliable, peer-reviewed information and which are plain bunk. Here are more web sites that can help lead the direction. And don't forget to try the recommended sites that I've mentioned on Suite 101 for a year! Six Senses - Established guidelines for medical information on the WWW. Physicians' Choice - Reviewed sites by a medical board. OK, but may need some updating. Quackwatch - A medical watchdog group started by a psychiatrist some 30 years ago, with some pointed opinions on alternative medicine. For an added bonus, read his very "interesting" comment section.
