As the proud father of a newborn baby, there is no greater joy than to come home and see the face of my little boy in his mother's arms. However, as any new parent, I am keen to any new sniffle or new rash that may suddenly appear. I have an immediate urge to call my pediatrician on anything that seems out of the ordinary.

To help remedy this, here are some links that can be especially useful to every concerned parent. (However, there is no substitute from getting the advice from your local family doc):

PEDINFO: An index of the Pediatric internet. Proudly declaring its dedication "to the dissemination of on-line information for pediatricians and others interested in child health" is probably where I would start first. A multitude of web sites and mailing lists.

The American Academy of Pediatrics contains a host full of valuable pamphlets and other sources of information easily extractable from the web. Don't forget to read about car seats!

Interested in breastfeeding? The La Leche League is the world famous authority on nursing and its web site is equally informative.

Dr. Greene's House Calls. Ask your questions to this web-savvy pediatrician on this award winning site. Outstanding!
