The recent acts of school violence have made the public aware that this type of action has become acceptable. Movies like Austin Powers portray violence as fun and harmless. This makes children think the same way, and they end up acting on these feelings. The public has accepted this violence by not acting on it in the open; we just pretend it never happened and go on with our lives. If we stop giving kids the message that violence is all right, through movies and TV, then these events may not happen.
