Conservative Columnists 'Advise' Dubya?

Just think: Dubya Bush spent all that money campaigning to become the most exasperated President-elect in history--Hayes should have been so lucky!--and for what?

So he could be 'advised' by the likes of the pompous William F. Buckley (who STILL uses words that are no longer printed in dictionaries, they are so archaic and ivory-tower!), Ollie "drug-runner-for-the-Contras" North, Robert Novak, Rush Limbaugh, and the rest of the folks at Townhall.com ("Over 60 conservative columnists at your fingertips!") at the URL "http://www.townhall.com/columnists/" (not to mention Jon Dougherty, Jeff "the Russians are coming!" Nyquist, and Rush's brother, David Limbaugh, of WorldNetDaily at "http://www.wnd.com/commentary.asp"--did I leave anyone out?)??

Since W. Bush has taken over as President--and when he's not trying to clean up the White House from the left-overs of the modern-day Visigoths (okay, okay, Vandals) of Mr. Bill--will I ever be able to write one piece here where I DON'T have to bring up Clinton?--he has to pay some kind of attention to the above so-called conservative "pundits" who, pretending that Bush is "inarticulate" and "unsophistocated" (ya know they said the same thing about wise ol' Cal Coolige?), must tell him how to do his job?

As if we elected Mr. Buckley? (Had we done so, we would have the opportunity to listed to how 'anfractuous' our tax system is--does anyone know what that word means? Does anyone have a dictionary with that word in it?? Just listening to him exhale while speaking makes me shudder! And FYI, that 'anfractuous' biz comes courtesy of one of the great discourses on how politicians misuse language, Edwin Newman's 70s classic Strictly Speaking).

Yet conservative columnists, in the course of about two weeks since Bush's Inauguration, have told Dubya to do the following:

1. Getting rid of Chavez for Labor Secretary was a good idea 2. Getting rid of chavez for Labor Secretary was a bad idea 3. Reform education now 4. Don't reform education--the public schools are beyond repair 5. Pander to minorities more (but you can investigate Jesse Jackson, okay?) 6. Don't pander to minorities at all since they will always vote Democrat no matter what you do, and hang Jackson by his you-know-what 7. Open the borders to more illegals 8. Close the borders to illegals, because illegals always vote Democrat 9. Oppose abortion at all costs 10. Be pro-choice (from some female columnists, notably Salon's Camille Paglia, who really isn't conservative, but is more libertarian than mosts libertarians are) 11. Punish Clinton (there he is again!) for his crimes while in the White House, and punish Reno for obstruction of justice, and get rid of all those Clinton pardons
