Are conservative media going the way of the mainstream?

If what I have suspected for a while--having been reading some of the more popular conservative news sites for a couple of years now--that the more "right"-viewed Internet news organs are practicing the same cover-up of the truth that the mainstream (read: liberal) news organs practice, we are in Trouble with a capital T!

Which rhymes with B and that stands for Bogus! (and a few other "b" words).

One of the hard-core issues the conservative presses report on as routine is the persecution of Christians in America and worldwide to the point where most Christians, who (depending on their Christian-ness) are more or less conservative, are believing that 1. popular culture is out to destroy them; 2. homosexuals are out to throw them all in jail under color of "hate crimes" legislation; 3. if any Christian tries to protest of some morally-reprehensible piece of pop media, they will be thrown into a mental hospital, a-la Soviet Union.

First of all let me say that I think Christians are being mildly persecuted here in the good ol' USA. Not, I might add, for being Christians--but for standing against the depraved level of pop culture that megasells, and thus, none of its boats should be rocked, or for speaking out their faith in this secular and politically correct society, particularly in the "non Bible Belt" areas (since I live in Big Bend Country of West Texas where the traditionalist and Chruch-going Christian rancher, as well as the Our-Lady-of-Whatever-worshipping Mexican/Catholic, cultures still hold sway, I don't have these problems, but you East/West coastline-residents, I share your pain on this issue!). Thus, I believe that those who believe that the "persecultion of Christians" in "God's Country" which is being dished out now is a "sign of the End Times" need to re-evaluate their beliefs, for things will have to get a whole lot worse (say, a-la persecution of Christians in say, North Korea) before the Second Coming arrives.

Having said that, I go on to an article I saw on the usually-reliable WorldNetDaily at "http://www.worldnetdaily.com/" by Jon Dougherty concerning a student at Temple University, a Mr. Marcavage, who protested the college's having a performance of the play "Corpus Christi" (about Jesus being persecuted for being gay) on the grounds that he was a Christian fighting anti-Christian-ness. He was hauled into a mental hospital by the head of campus security and another college official even though no campus or police psychiatrist or psychologist determined that Marcavage was a "threat to himself or others". After three days "observation period" in the institution, Marcavage was released. He has since got with a lawyer at the American Family Association and is suing the college and the two officials personally for the incarceration.
